2 Dos and 2 Dont's to Get Pretty Skin

2 Dos and 2 Dont's to Get Pretty Skin

Do you want brilliant, clean, pretty skin? Don’t we all? It’s not impossible, especially with the right help, but it does take some work.

Check out these tips to get the skin you’ve always dreamed of.

Do Remove Makeup before Bed

It might seem obvious, but we’ve all been so exhausted before that we’ve skipped this essential skin care step. If you want to wake up with pretty skin, you’ve got to go to bed with clean skin. The oils and dyes that most makeups contain not only trap dirt and bacteria in your pores, they also don’t allow your skin to breathe. For a chemical-free way to remove your makeup, just add a little olive oil on a cotton ball or cleansing pad and wipe away that makeup.

Do Have a Regular Skin Care Regimen

Pretty skin doesn’t just happen overnight. If you want to get the glow you’re after, you need to commit to it daily. Find a skin care regimen that works for you. If you have dry skin, be sure that you’re drinking plenty of water and moisturizing morning and night (and maybe during the day, depending on the severity). For oily skin, keep your preferred face wash with you. When you feel like you need to cleanse your face, don’t hesitate. You’ve got skin that is one in a million, so if something doesn’t seem to be working, try something new.

Don’t Skip Cleansing before and after a Workout

When you exercise, your oil production goes into overdrive. Besides that, your pores try to get rid of all the dirt that is clogging them while you sweat. To curb your skin’s oil production, try applying a toner before going on that run. After you’ve put in a good workout, wash your skin to keep it looking like a million bucks. However you choose to clean up, one thing’s for sure—you don’t want to leave your skin exposed. Apply a little sunscreen to protect your complexion from the sun’s harmful rays.

Don’t Forget to Exfoliate

Your skin is constantly rejuvenating—in with the new cells, out with the old. But if you don’t exfoliate, those old cells can get caught in your pores, causing all kinds of problems. If you want to avoid clogged pores and blemishes (gasp!), you need to exfoliate daily. You don’t need to scrub too hard. If you feel that you need a little extra exfoliation, just do it for longer, not harder. The last thing you want to do is rub that pretty skin raw.
