Want Pretty Skin? Get Back to Basics with these 4 Tips

Pretty skin doesn’t just happen. You have to work for it. But it is possible to work smarter and not harder to get that luxurious, silky, even-toned skin you’ve always dreamed about having!

Just imagine.

You’re walking down the street, and you notice that people are staring. You’ve rarely been the center of attention before, so you fear the worst. Maybe your makeup isn’t quite as beautiful as you imagined. Maybe your hair is doing something funny. You glance at the windows you’re passing. Everything looks fine, but you duck into a coffee shop to use the bathroom mirror anyway. When you’ve convinced yourself that you really do look fine (better than fine!), you come out and order a coffee. Before you can place your order, though, you feel a tap on your shoulder.

“Your skin is so beautiful! What do you use?”

That new skincare routine you’ve been trying out has started to pay off. Needless to say, your confidence is through the roof all day.

In this blog post, I want to take you through some of the essentials of skincare so that you can experience something similar and achieve your pretty skin goals. Ready to get back to basics? Check out these tips for beautiful skin.

Cleanse

Even pretty skin gets dirty during the day, especially if you’re busy and don’t have time to slow down like me. All that makeup, dirt, sweat, and oil can do a number on your skin if you don’t have a regular day-and-night cleansing routine. Choose a cleanser based on your skin type—milky or creamy for dry or sensitive skin and a cleansing oil if you wear long-lasting makeup. If you’re always on the go, you might even want to carry cleansing wipes for a quick cleanse.

Exfoliate

Our skin is constantly producing new cells to repair damage. But the buildup of dead cells can make skin look dull and dry. Exfoliation at least twice a week can help you get your sparkle back. You have two choices when it comes to exfoliation—mechanical or chemical. However, mechanical exfoliation (face scrubs and microdermabrasion) and chemical exfoliation (glycolic acid, lactic acid, and salicylic acid) are not created equal. If you have sensitive, sun damaged skin or are prone to breakouts, use a chemical exfoliant.

Moisturize Your Pretty Skin

Once you’ve gotten rid of all those nasty dead skin cells, it’s time for a moisturizer. Moisturizers not only make your skin look softer and younger but also protect against irritants by creating a barrier against the elements. For skin that breaks out easily, try using a non-comedogenic formula to prevent pore clogging.

Apply Serum

If you are concerned with pigmentation, fine lines, or enlarged pores, you most definitely need to add a serum to your routine, both day and night. Like moisturizers, serums fight signs of aging and skin damage. However, they contain more active ingredients, so if you have any problems that don’t resolve after using a moisturizer, try a harder working serum, like our Luminous Serum!

Get the pretty skin you were born to have. Become part of the dynasty.
